2009 summary of the consignment world

This year has been very tough for the RV consignment owner trying to get what we all believe is their full worth from their RV. As we look at the NADA values, we do an inspection, make the unit road worthy and display it, yet sometimes owners do not reap the full benefit from their unit. Many potential buyers have come in, gone over all the details with us and then made a ridiculous offer! Some of the buyers, we find out, cannot even get financing after we complete all the work involved in showing your product!! This situation is due to all the recent dealer closures and bank repositions that have placed many RVs on the market for purchase at discount prices for those who have the ready money. We have many consignment owners who have a great product and have paid good money for their RVs; they should sell for what we are asking. We are working for you as always. THIS IS OUR JOB AND WE LOVE IT.

In the last few months, there were noticeably more customers on our lot looking and wanting to purchase. This year our customers were talking and we were listening. We heard about the type of products they are looking for. What is great about Family RV as a dealership is that we can change directions very quickly to conform to our customer base.

Plans for 2010

The year 2010 is going to be very exciting around here. We signed a 10-year lease, we are upgrading our facility, and we are doing additional advertising to get your product in front of the public. We are looking at a re-designed website and are setting up the products with new signs and promotions. Hang in there! We believe the worst is behind us, and once the winter weather clears, we should see lots more action. Meanwhile we are taking care of your RV the best we can until the market allows us to find a buyer who will see the true value and enjoy what you enjoyed with your RV
