Frequently asked questions for pick up and return times


Pick up times are normally between 2:00pm - 4:00pm on the day of departure. (Your pick up day is counted as a half day)
The pick up process is as follows:
- Visit the front rental office to complete your pick up paperwork (insurance, deposit, drivers license & credit card copies)
- You will then be asked to watch a 18 minute instructional video (Video is also available online and can be watched in advance. Previous renters are not required to watch the video)
- You will then do a complete walk around the vehicle with a PDI tech to verify the condition and operation of your rental. (prior to your arrival our technicians have tested all appliances, checked all functions, and done a complete interior and exterior inspection. Then our PDI technicians verify the RV and review your needs and get it ready for you. Finally the detailers clean and get ready. This process takes 2 to 3 hours in advance of your arrival).

The rental check out process can take 30 to 90 minutes depending if others are ahead of you, if you have rented from us before, or if you are a first time renter. Please plan ahead so that you have enough time for the check out process.

Early pick up times may be available and must be requested in advance and in writing by emailing info@familyrv.com. We will contact you when the RV is ready for you to pick up. (subject to vehicle readiness) Early pick up pick fees are normally as follows:
· Early morning pick up between 10:00 pm - 12:00 pm - $ 45.00 fee
· Early afternoon pick up between 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm - $ 30.00 fee

Return time is normally between 9:00 am - 11:00 am on the day of return. (Your return day is counted as a half day)
The return times are in the morning so that it allows us enough time to prepare the RV for the next rental customer. Many times the RV is rented to go out the same afternoon. It takes longer to check in an RV than it does to check it out normally, so leave some time for this procedure. We have found that if the RV is returned as picked up, full of fuel, cleaned inside and out and with no damage the rental return process goes quicker. So please return the unit as received. If there is cleaning needed or damage caused to the unit this will delay the check in. Also on busy return days it will help to have all of your paperwork ready and rental unit ready for us to inspect to help expedite the check in process. Any cleaning needed or damage caused will be evaluate, estimated and gone over with you and will need to be paid for prior to leaving unless otherwise approved by the service manager. If there was an accident we will need to get in contact with you insurance and get a claim file. Your security deposit will be held along with any fees until resolved.
